We have 7 comfortable en-suite bedrooms. The rooms have Colour
TV, hair dryer, radio/alarm and Tea/coffee making facilities.
All
are en-suite with shower or bath and are tastefully decorated for your comfort.
Most rooms offer sea or mountain views. One of the double rooms is a luxury four
poster and has views in two directions.
The ground floor has three bedroom, a double, twin and
the four poster room, all with en-suite bathroom and shower.
The first floor has four bedrooms, a twin room and double with
en-suite shower, and a twin and double with en-suite bath.
Our dining room serves breakfast offering a buffet style
cereal selection, followed by a choice of traditional breakfast or kippers. We
serve a 3 course table d'hotel evening meal followed by tea or coffee served in
the lounge or in our conservatory with panoramic views. The choice is yours.
The residents lounge is peaceful and relaxing. The dark
beams and open fire
create
a country lodge atmosphere, and here you may relax with your after dinner coffee
or drink in one of our Chesterfield couches or chairs. The views from the lounge
are usually described as breathtaking as it overlooks Loch Glencoul, a sea-loch
or fjord set in a spectacular mountainous valley, which was carved by glaciers
during the Ice Age.
The most popular place in our hotel is the panoramic
conservatory. We overlook a small colony of common seals. We have a
telescope trained on the colony, so guests may spend exciting
moments watching the seals splash around. The pups are born in June and
this is an exciting time for us as we eagerly await the birth of the first pup.
You may also take a walk to the shore line to obtain a closer view of the seal
family
There are times when the sun is setting and the colours are truly spectacular
as a warm orange-pink glow spreads over the mountains. Other camera-grabbing
moments are when deer are spotted on the skyline or Golden Eagle are hunting
along the mountain ridge or when the mists roll up the valley or a rainbow
appears after a rainstorm. On these occasions, I have seen our conservatory
empty as guests rush for their cameras.
