The birdlife and animals roaming wild are a great attraction. Otters. Eagles. Stags. There’s even a common seal colony and breeding grounds right on our doorstep, in the loch below Newton Lodge. One of more than 150 worldwide, this protected area tells the story of a unique landscape and geological heritage. 3 billion years of rock formations – the oldest to be found anywhere in Europe and containing the earliest evidence of life.
