           Welcome to Newton Lodge

Newton Lodge, Kylesku is a  luxury bed and breakfast (B&B), purpose built to offer quality en-suite accommodation. Situated just south of the peaceful hamlet of Kylesku in the Highlands of Scotland, our guest house nestles between Quinag, a well known mountain and the sea loch, Loch Glencoul. Newton Lodge B & B is a highly individual and special place to unwind or a base from which to explore the Northwest Highland Tourist Route.

At Newton Lodge you will receive a warm welcome from resident proprietors, Andre and Freda. Our non-smoking guest house provides bed and breakfast accommodation in an exclusive and intimate setting, with discrete and yet attentive service. We have strived to create a relaxed atmosphere in a country house amidst stunning scenery, where you can truly escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

The B&B is centrally heated throughout. The beautifully fitted drawing room has spectacularLoch Glencoul & Newton Lodge views over Loch Glencoul, a sea loch or fjord carved by glaciers during the Ice Age and just below is a breeding colony of common seal. The seals can be observed from our telescope in the conservatory or by taking a walk along the shoreline. We hold a residents licence for wine and spirits so guests can enjoy a drink in either our lounge or conservatory while watching the seals and enjoying the fabulous views.

During your hoKerrachar Gardensliday you will find lots of things to do in the area. From Kylesku you can take aBritain's Highest Waterfall boat trip to Kerrachar Gardens (left) or up Loch Glencoul to see the highest waterfall in Britain, with its drop of 658feet (right). This trip takes you really close to the seal colony, allowing great photo opportunities.

Newton Lodge B&B is situated two miles south of Kylesku village and the spectacular Kylesku bridge. The fishing village of Lochinver is a scenic half hour drive. Our bed and breakfast accommodation is also situated at the centre of Scotland's first Global Geopark, a 2000 square km area, which encompasses some of the finest mountain and coastal landscapes in Britain and a wealth of classic geological localities. On the mountains opposite our guest house, a slab of Lewisian Gneiss has been thrust over cliffs of orange-brown quartzite to form the famous Glencoul thrust.

Should you want to just relax and unwind then this is the place to do so, or you may wish to discover some of the interesting local attractions. Beautiful, lonely, unspoilt beaches are within easy access and there are numerous walks in the area. These can be taken as a leisurely stroll, or you attempt one of the more adventurous mountain walks. Trout fishing permits can be obtained locally and there are also sea angling opportunities. If this has whetted your appetite then visit out "things to do" page for more details of the activities in our area.
